Even though I love nothing more than learning from other people’s progress, I’m getting tired of only ever seeing the results.
Sure, it’s great to see progress and hear people’s advice but it’s always coming from the easy bit – the bit after all of the hard work has happened.
Seeing this constantly on social media has made me feel disheartened in the past, whether I am trying to lose weight, eat better, work harder or whatever. It’s easy for those at the end of their journeys, those who have already reached their goals, to tell you how they did it.
But what about the bit in the middle?
This is where the real magic happens and that’s why I wanted to write this post today.
I’m someone who is obsessed with fresh starts, so starting on a health or wellness journey isn’t that big of a deal for me. It’s the sticking with it and seeing results that I struggle with.
After coming back from holiday, I’ve found myself in a bit of a rut that has caused me to reevaluate everything that’s going on in my life.
Cut to me where I’m at right now: day one, once more.
I’m really trying to take control of my health, my finances and my general routine. This is something that I’ll probably talk about more as time goes on, but I think the beginning is just as important to talk about.
At the moment I am fuelled with excitement, so I’m feeling pretty determined to eat better, move my body, work hard and stop spending.
But this is only day one.
What does day one actually look like?
Well, there’s a lot of YouTube searches for people who are trying to do the same as me, lots of podcasts and inspirational quotes. But there’s also a lot of sitting around and a bit of insecurity.
It’s hard being at the beginning, especially when you’re as impatient as me. But, like that old children’s book used to say – you can’t go over it, you can’t go over it…
You just have to go through it.
What are you working on right now?
Speak soon,
Rachael.
