As I’ve said in a previous post, I rely a lot on music to help me and my mood. When I’m getting ready for a night out it’s crucial that I remain happy and excited, comfortable and confident or else things could go wrong once I finally get out. Music is something I use to put me in that mood and it makes sure I stay there. So here are five songs I listen to when I’m getting ready for a night out with my girls and I think you should try them too:

“I’m not here for your entertainment, you don’t really wanna mess with me tonight”
Pink is my absolute favourite artist. This woman has been my Queen since I was thirteen years old and she has taught me so much, including the valuable lesson that it’s okay to swear and be loud as a woman. This song has meant so much to me over the past couple of years since clubbing and alcohol has come into my life and any girl who has had a night out will totally understand. It’s upbeat, catchy with a hint of anger and gets me ready for a brilliant night with my girls.

“Say I look so good tonight”
It won’t be an all female playlist without Beyonce! I was obsessed with this song when it came out and no matter how many times I play it I still feel empowered, proud and, of course, flawless. Which is exactly what you need for a night in town! This song awakens the inner Sass Queen, Raven Baxter I have somewhere inside and I know it’ll do the same for you.

“You can tell me when it’s over, if the high was worth the pain”
Although when I’m going for a night out the last thing on my mind is hooking up with someone, I still like to feel as though I look attractive. Just for me. This song makes me feel like an ultra-confident, sassy serial-heartbreaker and makes me want to strut around in my (let’s be honest, pretty small) heels. The key to confidence is faking it but with this song I don’t have to.

4. Sexy Lady- Jessie J
“Use it, flaunt it, own it”
This one’s a little cheesy but feeling good is my main concern when I’m getting ready for a night out. If I feel good, I’ll have a good night. But the second any negativity comes in my night will be spoilt. Making sure I feel happy, comfortable and confident is the main reason I spend so long getting ready and cheesy tunes like this one with it’s upbeat, repetative lyrics create that mood and ensure that I have a brilliant night.

5. We Can’t Stop- Miley Cyrus
“Cause we came to have so much fun now”
Ah Miley. A lot of controversy, a lot of boldness and a lot of weirdness. But I still can’t help but like this girl and although this song was overplayed so much I still feel really good whenever I hear it. It’s silly and stupid but it’s catchy so I play it a lot before a night out. Singing about having a good night makes me feel optimistic and excited and makes it very likely that it’ll happen to me. Also this song is such much fun to sing and dance to with friends, loudly and crudely after a few drinks. Guaranteed to have a laugh with this one!

This list took a surprisingly long time to think up! It turns out that there is a shortage of female artists in my music collection. Anyway, I hope you liked this post.
